What is distributed audio/video?
Distributed audio is speaker placement about a room or home in such a way that the full potential of the sound is heard. The speakers can also be “distributed,” or spread out, into the entire building for a centrally decided sound to play, whether that is the radio, an iPod, or the movie you were just watching in your living room.
Distributed video works in much the same way, except it is a visual that is spread about a building. The video is not spread around like the sound is, but it is actually controllable from anywhere you put a receiver (for a remote) or an access panel (mounted on or in a wall).
How does it work?
The audio/video system is controlled by either a stack of equipment (the traditional method) or a PC, whichever you think should run the show. From this central point, you can connect devices you want to run (such as a surround sound speaker system), attach a remote receiver or access panel, and set the computer/equipment hub to receive the signal to change whatever setting you want.
This system allows for an easily interconnected building that we will set up for you so that there is a minimal knowledge of programming or wiring knowledge required to use it.
